It is very clear that the environment is our most precious good we have and there for it is our responsibility to take care of the planet we all live on, so that our children are still able to enjoy the walks into the forrest and to enjoy the beaches and clean water to swim in.

Sustainability means being profitable while protecting people and planet at the same time. However, we have little knowledge about the true costs of the products we use and the true value of the materials that make up our clothes? Often we hear talk about the natural resources, like water, that are wasted to make products. That the amount of water used to make a single T-shirt could sustain one person for three years for example. But what about human resources? What would happen if everyone knew exactly who made our clothes and how much they are making to do this? Every piece of wasted fabric contains all the resources used in its production process. Are we however willing to pay the true price?

It sure is.
But there is another side of the medal. What association do you
have with a landfill or the burning of fabrics for example. This is where
fabrics often end up after being used and sometimes even without being used. So
think again.. How glamorous is fashion? As humans, our natural footprint last
no more than 50100 years, there are however other 'things' literally that we
will be leaving behind that will last centuries to decompose: Our waste. And unfortunately, a big
part of this is fashion.
in the days the supply chain in fashion asks for high margins and for high
volumes to produce and because of the oversea locations to produce the clothing
it asks a firm planning. Manufactures and agents try to make nice samples for
the brands, retailers try to analyse with data, but mainly based on a feeling
to buy the right fashion styles and the right sizes for their clients into
high volume are almost a must to make high margins on their products and build
a healthy company. Trying to change something after placing the order is very difficult.
If the retailers are making a mistake the goods will go into sale. There is
also a possibility that the articles are going back to the manufacturer and
will be sold through factory outlets to give the products a second change.
